Successful first edition We Make M-ODE
From Wednesday 20th till Sunday 24th of June, Amsterdam became the stage for We Make M-ODE. From the heart at the Westergasterrein, the fashion program spread over Amsterdam West and further into the Zuidas. We Make M-ODE was part of the Amsterdam cultural festival WeMakeThe.City. Throughout Amsterdam the public found a inspiring sustainable fashion route. Ateliers throughout the city opened their doors and pop-up stores were specially designed for the occasion. The Westergasterrein was dominated by presentations from various designers.

The M-ODE Foundation is elevating talented Fashion Designers, Developers & Entrepreneurs, to create durable & responsible enterprises, products and movements. WE ARE M-ODE

Iris Ruisch - Managing Director M-ODE
Iris Ruisch graduated at ArtEZ as a Fashion Designer (BA) in 1998.
After her graduation Iris worked for several fashion houses, such as Paul Smith & Turnover. She found her way in menswear as Head of Menswear Design at Laundry Industry. After that she foucussed on talent development and bridging creativity with commerce by becoming Senior Design Consultant & Talentscout at HTNK. Seeing the potential of Dutch fashion designers she became Creative Director of Amsterdam Fashion Week in 2015, creating a high-end fashion event, that gained respect from both professionals and press. Upscaling the possibilities for talent development and their internationalizing meant stepping into a new adventure and become part of M-ODE in 2018.
Peter Leferink - Founder M-ODE Foundation
Peter C. Leferink graduated at Montaigne (now AMFI) as a Fashion Designer (BA) in 1994.
The first decade after graduation, Peter fulfilled a central role in the team that took the Ann Demeulemeester label to the global fashion stage. The Antwerp fashion heartbeat, known for its unique level of craftsmanship, creating future with history and an absolute eye for aesthetic detail, is still at heart of everything he undertakes. Within the PCL company; a consultancy lab. His work as Principal Design Lecturer at AMFI, and the various fashion related projects he embraces.
Over the recent years the fashion industry rapidly turned into a monster destroying both planet and people. Seeing a change of the industry as a necessity he recently created the M-ODE foundation.
