Outsiderwear is a project in which talented outsider artists are connected to emerging and established fashion designers and artists, or Insiders. An Outsider is an artist with, for example, a mental or physical disability, a psychiatric or homeless background.
Fashion platforms M-ODE, FASHIONCLASH and State of Fashion join forces and present the research-based collaboration and multidisciplinary partnership Taskforce Fashion. In co-creation with Dutch design talent, they investigate the relevance and the transforming role of fashion concerning social issues, climate change and a sustainable vision for the future.
M-ODE is one of the initators of Culture.Fashion. Culture.Fashion is an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, and is an open, value-driven, network in the field of fashion and textiles that brings dedicated people together. With Culture.Fashion, different parties are brought together; new local initiatives are started, a culture of collaboration is stimulated, tools are presented to highlight the Dutch fashion landscape and the future of fashion from the Netherlands will be explored and shaped.

The Fashion industry is exhausted, looking for a new start. We provide a stage for a new generation of resilient and activist designers, developers & dare devils.
We Make M-ODE: exhibition – shows – talks and more.
Jessica van Halteren works circular. Her journey into sustainable design started years ago. She was given a suitcase full of clothes, once worn by artists. As an ode to their love they kept the suitcase for years and years.
M-ODE is very proud to announce the start ups and groundbreaking fashion entrepreneurs that will present their ideas for a better future of the fashion industry to an expert panel of Dutch and international high end experts.
From Wednesday 20th till Sunday 24th of June, Amsterdam became the stage for We Make M-ODE. From the heart at the Westergasterrein, the fashion program spread over Amsterdam West and further into the Zuidas. We Make M-ODE was part of the Amsterdam cultural festival WeMakeThe.City. Throughout Amsterdam the public found a inspiring sustainable fashion route. Ateliers throughout the city opened their doors and pop-up stores were specially designed for the occasion. The Westergasterrein was dominated by presentations from various designers.
We provide tools and guidelines. M-ODE is a coaching hub delivering: events, workshops, seminars & master classes, that bring together necessary expertise on visibility & press, international production & sales possibilities, and opportunities for a international network and collaborations.
Our support is driven by designer aims and the need for a healthier planet.

Peter C. Leferink graduated at Montaigne (now AMFI) as a Fashion Designer (BA) in 1994.
The first decade after graduation, Peter fulfilled a central role in the team that took the Ann Demeulemeester label to the global fashion stage. The Antwerp fashion heartbeat, known for its unique level of craftsmanship, creating future with history and an absolute eye for aesthetic detail, is still at heart of everything he undertakes. Within the PCL company; a consultancy lab. His work as Principal Design Lecturer at AMFI, and the various fashion related projects he embraces.
Over the recent years the fashion industry rapidly turned into a monster destroying both planet and people. Seeing a change of the industry as a necessity he recently created the M-ODE foundation.
